A visit to our pick and feathered friends at Lake Nakuru will give an adventurous traveller the much needed break from the Nairobi city. Lake Nakuru lies in the volcano –strewn Rift Valley, one of a chain of 8 lakes, which stretch the length of Kenya from Tanzania to Ethiopia. The 160 km’s drive from Nairobi passes through highland farms of the Kikuyu people before descending an escarpment into the dramatic landscape of the Rift. Lunch is taken in the Park and is followed by and extensive tour which focuses on the bewildering spectacle of a million flamingo but which also seeks out the large variety of wildlife with which the Park abounds. On the return journey to Nairobi a stop is made at Lake Naivasha where tea is taken among the fever trees and where bird watchers will delight in the fantastic array of bird life

Whole joints of meat- legs of lamb and pork, rumps of beef spare ribs, sausages, chicken wings, skewered kidneys, even ostrich and crocodile and other tasty morsels are roasted in traditional maasai swords over a huge, spectacular charcoal pit that dominates the entrance of the restaurant.
Normally waiters welcome you for starters with a delicious hot soup, and then carry the meat swords around the restaurant, carving unlimited amounts of the prime meats onto sizzling, cast iron plates in front of you. A wide selection of salads, vegetable side dishes, and a variety of exotic sauces accompany the meat feast. After this meal, dessert and coffee follow.
